Playlist Editor
On all media displays or positional displays that should be used to show images and videos, there must be areas inserted that will accept a Playlist. These
Channel Player areas are managed with the Surface Editor, see
“Channel Player” for more information.
Below is the page for Playlists. To the left is a list with all Playlists. Click the button or the link Create new Playlist, or click an existing Playlist, to open the Playlist Creator / Editor. Enter text in the selection box to reduce the number of Playlists in the list.
This is the page for viewing and editing a Playlist. On this page are shown all items in the Playlist, their play order and duration, for example:
To the right is a list of items that can be inserted in the Playlist and a button to upload more items. Images, videos and links are on separate tabs.
Playlist in Playlist
It is also possible to insert a playlist into another playlist. Simply drag and drop the wanted playlist from the All playlists area to the left into the playlist.
It is not possible to create a playlist that contains a playlist, which, in turn, contains the first playlist.
If you are using an older Queue Agent, the playlist in playlist functionality is not supported. Nested playlists will be removed when publishing to the older Queue Agent.
Accepted formats
• For images: jpg, jpeg, png and bmp
• For video: ogg, ogv, webm and mp4
• For links: the link must start with http://
Please note that for links the contents will not be displayed if the link is a redirected URL. Also, it is not possible to set how much of the URL that is actually displayed in the channel planner component.
Due to safety regulations concerning https, there are problems with using http pages, such as Google, embedded in frames. If you want to use free standing https pages, please contact Support.
To insert an item, double-click it or drag and drop it into the list.
The play order of items is changed by drag and drop in the list.
The position of an item in the Channel Player area is set with the Position drop-down menu in the middle of the row.
Available positions
• For images: Centre, Fill, Fit and Stretch
• For videos: Centre and Fit
• For playlists nested in playlists, this is not applicable
Centre
No scaling or other change. If the image is smaller than the area, borders are inserted around the image. If the image is larger than the area, only the centre of image is in view.
Fill
Aspect ratio not changed. Scale to fill the whole area and centring, thus parts of the image are out of view.
Fit
Aspect ratio not changed. Scale to have the whole image in the area, thus borders are inserted where necessary.
Stretch
Stretch and shrink so that the image fills the area completely and nothing is outside the area.
The duration for showing an image, video or link is set by entering the number of seconds in the Duration field.
Click the Recycle Bin,
, icon to remove an item from the Playlist.
Remember to Save all changes. It is also possible to click Save As, if you for example want to create a similar playlist.
